COOK MINISTRY — CONSTITUTION
345. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Do
those tired members and potential retirees remain on the Premier's
frontbench because a deal was done with the unions in return for being Premier?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order!

I am appalled that someone on the
opposition benches would talk about age as a barrier to being involved in
politics.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please,
members. Members of the opposition and government, this is a supplementary
answer and the Premier has the floor.
Mr
R.H. COOK : They are all performing
at the top of their game and actually producing great government on behalf of the people of Western Australia. I think the Leader of the Opposition was a little
bit harsh on the Minister for Energy by pointing out his age and that he should
be considering retirement, and I make the observation that the Leader of the
Opposition is exactly the same age as the Minister for Energy!
