Hon Dr Steve Thomas questions the Minister regarding potential variations to a $240,000 KPMG contract related to Griffin Coal, specifically seeking details on conditions, approval processes, and financial caps. The Minister's response indicates variations are possible if the work exceeds initial expectations, approval depends on the variation amount, and there is no financial cap.

Minister for State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade:
I refer to my question without
notice 1070 of 19 September 2023 on the $240 000 KPMG–Griffin Coal
contract.
(1) What conditions, scenarios, events or trigger
points would allow for the financial variation of the $240 000 KPMG–Griffin
Coal contract?
(2) Who specifically within the Department of the
Premier and Cabinet would approve variation to the contract?
(3) Is there a financial cap to the
variation that can be applied to the $240 000 contract?
(4) If yes to (3), what is that
cap?
