645. Mr McGOWAN to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Tourism:
I refer to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre project and ask -
(a) what strategic alliances are in place in relation to Multiplex and other convention centres around Australia and the world;
(b) what alliances are in place to ensure that Multiplex is able to capitalise on conventions elsewhere;
(c) who are these strategic alliances with; and
(d) where are these other convention centres located?

The Minister Replied:
(a) Our investigations do not show the company Multiplex Constructions have any strategic alliance with other convention centres other than that being built soon.
(b) The Multiplex Consortium includes the well respected international convention centre operator Ogdens IFC who are working closely with the Perth Convention Bureau to ensure a successful business dedicated to the Meetings Incentives Conventions Exhibitions (MICE) industry is developed in WA following the opening of this world class facility.
