(1) Will the state government lobby the commonwealth to introduce a national register to monitor the sale of prescription drugs as recommended by the Western Australian Coroner? (2) If no to (1), why not? Hon HELEN MORTON

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. (1) No. (2) The commonwealth has already stated that it is working with the states to develop a system to collect and report data on pharmacists dispensing controlled drugs to combat forged scripts, abuse and doctor shopping.
