On behalf of the Minister for
Police, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(a) In 2014–15, there were 1
951 and for 2015–16 as at 31 May 2016, there were 2 143.
(b)–(d) In
2014–15, there were 1 641 arrests, 304 summonses and six warrants. For
2015–16 as at 31 May 2016, there were 1 811 arrests, 319 summonses and
13 warrants.
It should be noted that these totals
cannot be compared with the response that is proposed to question without
notice 623 because these charges are generated from a system known as Briefcase
and cannot be linked to the incident management system. Offenders are counted
only once during the entire period, irrespective of how many times they were
charged.
