$2.2 million is being used to fund the construction of the Karrinyup Sports Centre, which is presently being built by the City of Stirling. The remaining $2.3 million has been placed in trust, in the form of withholding 8 residential lots from the redevelopment. The 8 lots have a value equal to or greater than $2.3 million. A community consultation process will be undertaken to consider whether a pool facility should be built on the site or elsewhere or alternatively whether the funds should be utilised to fund securing additional public open space. 2) The question of whether a pool should be developed on-site or elsewhere in the area or alternatively additional public open space be provided is to be determined through a process involving further community input. 3) The Government is honouring its commitment via the provision of $2.3 million in funding for a pool facility. The question of the construction and ongoing management responsibility will be determined once the community consultation process has been concluded.
