(1) Have any
arrangements been made for the physical placement of a heavy aircraft water
bomber in Western Australia for the upcoming fire season; and, if not, why not?

(1), what type and model of aircraft?

On behalf of the Minister for
Emergency Services, I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) No. The
Department of Fire and Emergency Services is satisfied that our existing fleet
meets the unique requirements of bush firefighting in Western Australia.
However, if required, the state has arrangements with the National Aerial
Firefighting Centre to engage these resources if and when required.
(2) Not applicable.
