BROOME PORT AUTHORITY, REQUEST FOR BRIEFING FROM MEMBER FOR CARINE 290. Mr McRAE to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure: Has the minister received from opposition members any unusual requests for briefings on her portfolio interests? Ms MacTIERNAN
AnswerView source ↗
I was quite surprised to receive a request from the member for Carine for a briefing from the Broome Port Authority. Apparently the member for Carine has approached the Broome Port Authority for an on-site briefing on the operations of the Broome port. Mr Day: What is wrong with that? Ms MacTIERNAN: It is a little difficult to see the connection between the operations of the Broome port and her constituency. It is also a little tricky to see how it relates to her role as T1; that is, the opposition spokesperson on metropolitan transport. However, I am very happy to agree to the request and to make her winter sojourn in Broome during the week of the Shinju Matsuri Festival a little more interesting, and perhaps provide the member for Carine with the opportunity to claim the jaunt to Broome on her imprest.
