❓ A member of parliament is requesting detailed statistics on young people in detention, specifically at Banksia Hill, for a specific date (April 30, 2017). The Minister's response indicates a delay in reporting due to a system upgrade, with a promise to resume reporting from September 2018.

The Department of Justice advises:
The production of these reports is not a legislative or a departmental policy requirement.
The production of the monthly and quarterly reports was labour-intensive and took considerable time to create and check. The Department is developing a new Corrective Services data and reporting framework to systemise the production of the quarterly statistics reports. While this work has been underway it has not been possible to publish these reports.
It is intended to resume publication of quarterly reports, including reports for quarters ending June 2017, September 2017, December 2017, March 2018 and June 2018 from the September 2018 quarter onwards.
