ROE HIGHWAY STAGE 8 — GATEWAY REVIEW
1254. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Gateway review
process endorsed by cabinet in 2007.
(1) Given the
estimated cost of the Roe 8 project exceeds $100 million, has the Gateway
review of the Roe 8 proposal as a standalone road project been conducted?
(2) If no to (1),
why not, given that road projects that exceed $100 million are supposed to be
subject to a Gateway review?
(3) Is the only Gateway review conducted on Roe 8 the
review that was done on the whole Perth Freight Link?
(4) If yes to
(3), how does the government justify spending large sums of taxpayers'
money on a project that has not been assessed on its own merits, as per the
Gateway review requirements?

the member but I have not seen that question and I do not have a response to it
either.
