I refer to the research report entitled, 'The Legal Profession's Experience of Practical Legal Training' which was independently prepared for the New South Wales (NSW) Legal Profession Admission Board on 9 April 2025, as well as NSW Chief Justice, Andrew Bell's comment that the data gathered for the report has raised “serious concerns” about the quality of the mandatory training that law graduates are required to complete, and I ask: (a) is the Attorney General aware of this report; (b) if yes to (a), has the Attorney General been briefed on any implications this report might have for practical legal training (PLT) in Western Australia (WA); and (c) have any calls been made for reform of PLT in WA?
