Housing—Affordability
332. Hon Maryka Groenewald to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Commerce:
I refer to the
Duties Amendments Bill 2025 and the stated goal of increasing housing
affordability. Given around 7,000 Australian builders and subcontractors have
failed in the previous three years:
(1) What protections exist for WA homebuyers
against unreasonable building delays and business collapse?
(2) Does the government plan on reducing
regulatory compliance costs as part of its goal of increasing housing
affordability?

I do not have that
answer in my file, but I have seen it today, so if someone gets it to me before
the end of question time, I will provide the member with an answer.
