(1) It is proposed that the new training centre will include two general classrooms (one IT enabled and the other to have kitchen/art facilities), administration/reception area, student amenities and ablutions.
(2) Representatives from the Department of Training and Workforce Development and Kimberley TAFE have attended the Fitzroy Futures Forums on 6 September 2009 and 2 December 2009. A Forum subgroup has also been established and will meet on 2 March 2010 to enable detailed consultation with the community, industry and education, and training stakeholders regarding training needs and the type of facility required. A subgroup report will be provided to the March 2010 Fitzroy Futures meeting.
(3) It is anticipated that the new facility will be three times the size of the existing facility that will be replaced. The new facility will provide a contemporary and high standard adult learning environment for expanded training delivery.
(4) The Department of Training and Workforce Development's Capital Works Budget includes an allocation of $3 million for the new facility.
