I refer to the cancellation of the Transwa bus service from Perth to Mukinbudin, via Northam, and I ask: (a) when was the service cancelled; (b) has any consideration been given to reinstating the service and, if not, why not; (c) was any consultation undertaken prior to the cancellation of the service and, if yes, who was consulted; (d) if no to (c), why not; (e) has any consultation been undertaken since the cancellation of the service and, if yes, who was consulted; and (f) if no to (e), are there any plans to consult on this matter and, if not, why not?

(a) The last Northam to Mukinbudin contracted road coach service operated on 27
December 2013.
(b) Consideration has been given to reinstating a "feeder" bus service between Mukinbudin and Merredin which will allow passengers to connect to the MerredinLink or Prospector trains.
(c) No.
(d) Transwa presented a request to cancel the Northam to Mukinbudin contracted road coach service to Government as part of a suite of poorly performing regional contracted road coach services.
(e) Yes, the WDC has consulted with Local Government representatives regarding a connecting bus/coach service solution with the MerredinLink and Prospector trains.
(f) Not applicable
