Hon. Colin Holt questions the Minister for Transport regarding Main Roads WA's failure to address concerns of property owners affected by the Bunbury Outer Ring Road project, specifically those at 229 Yalinda Drive. The Minister's response indicates Main Roads has made efforts to address concerns and will provide a formal response shortly, which Holt disputes.

BUNBURY OUTER RING ROAD
ROUTE — PROPERTY ACQUISITION
144. Hon COLIN HOLT to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to questions without notice
36 and 88 and my member's statement on 19 February 2020. Main Roads WA made a commitment to the owners of 229 Yalinda
Drive on 20 February 2020 to address their concerns within 10 working
days. Main Roads has not done this.
(1) Will the
minister now direct Main Roads WA to immediately meet with the owners of 229
Yalinda Drive to discuss their concerns?
(2) If not, why not?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(2) As
outlined in response to question without notice 88, Main Roads has made a comprehensive
and extensive effort to provide information
to the owners of 229 Yalinda Drive and accommodate their requests . A
formal response to the inquiry in question will be provided to the owners by
Main Roads shortly.
Hon Colin Holt :
They haven't.
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON : Mate,
you asked a question and I provided the answer on behalf of somebody else. That
is the answer.
Hon Colin Holt interjected.
The PRESIDENT : Member, you
have been around long enough to know that sometimes when you ask a question,
you do not always get the answer you want.
