I refer to applications received by the Western Australian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages to amend the recorded sex on a person's identification documents between 1 September 2025 and 31 December 2025, and I ask: (a) how many applications were received during this period; (b) how many of these applicants sought to change their identified sex from male to female, including how many adults and how many children under 18; (c) how many of these applicants sought to change their identified sex from female to male, including how many adults and how many children under 18; (d) how many of these applicants sought to change their identified sex to a non-binary or other designation, including how many adults and how many children under 18; (e) how many of these applicants were a Restricted Person or were subsequently classified as a Restricted Person, due to intervention by a Supervisory Authority, including how many adults and how many children under 18; (f) how many applications were refused due to a Supervisory Authority not granting approval, including how many adults and how many children under 18; (g) how many applications were refused due to an applicant’s provision of false or misleading information; (h) how many applications were made for children under 18 in which the child cannot give consent; (i) how many applications were refused due to reasons given that the child under 18 cannot give consent; (j) how many applications were refused due to the applicant being a minor without parental or supervisory consent; and (k) how many cases were authorised by a court order for a minor who did not have the consent of any parent or guardian?
