I refer to the answer to question without notice 71 yesterday
that the Department of Education has engaged an actuary to calculate the
savings made by efforts to reduce the long service leave liability.
(1) When was the
actuary appointed?
(2) What is the
cost of the appointment?
(3) What is the
term of the appointment?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) On 27 November
2013.
(2) The cost of
the appointment to date is $108 789, inclusive of GST.
(3) The term is
approximately three months, at the discretion of the Department of Education.
Further minor work is expected to follow as part of the 2013–14
financial statements.
