The 24 individual forestry businesses received a total of $22,911,960 under the Business Transition Programs , Program 1.
Payments to each business under this program have been calculated based on eligible Forest Products Commission base-contract volumes.
For each of the sawmills, payment was calculated at $180 per tonne of sawlog and $35 per tonne of other bole volume and 50% volume at $180 per tonne and 50% volume at $35 per tonne for whole bole log.
For each of the harvest or haulage companies, the payment includes a base restructure payment for each eligible business and an additional variable payment calculated at $35 per tonne of other bole volume for harvest or haulage businesses with other bole volume contracts.
The Business Transition Programs also includes additional funding for:
a.       Program 2:  Statutory Redundancy Reimbursement.
b.      Program 3: Site Clean-up, Decommissioning or Equipment Reimbursement Payment.
