The Minister for Energy has been provided with the following response.
(1) The Supreme Court of Western Australia was set to hear the dispute on 9 May 2007.
(2) The Statement of Claim from Dr van der Mye is attached. [See Paper tabled number ]
(3) The Board of Verve Energy formed a view, based on legal advice, that it would be preferable to seek to settle the matter rather than deal with it in court. The Chairman of Verve Energy advised the current Minister for Energy of this intended approach and he agreed with it.
