I refer to question on notice No. 1771, and I ask: (a) has the Department of Planning developed an alternative alignment for the freight rail route from Bellevue to Forrestfield; (b) if yes to (a), will the Minister table it and, if not, why not; (c) when will the report be released; (d) will there be public consultation on the freight route and, if yes, when will this occur; (e) what is the estimated cost of this route; and (f) how much land will need to be resumed?

(a) The Department of Planning and the Public Transport Authority on behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) have undertaken a technical study outlining options for the Midland freight alignment.
(b)-(f) The report has not yet been considered by the WAPC.
