The Department of Education monitors student population growth in all of its schools and plans appropriate responses. The Department uses transportable classrooms to accommodate growth. Responses to long term sustained growth are subject to planning and budget processes.
1)         As at Semester 2, 2019, Churchlands Senior High School had a total enrolment of 2 850 students.
2)         Churchlands Senior High School has a total accommodation capacity of 2 867 students.
3)         20 transportable classrooms are currently installed at Churchlands Senior High School.
4)         The capacity of Churchlands Senior High School, without transportables, is 2 392 students.
5)         The Department of Education actively monitors student population growth and residential development to determine if schools are coming under accommodation pressure and require a relieving strategy.

* The projections for Churchlands Senior High School have been presented as a range because the actual number of students who will choose to enrol at Bob Hawke College based on the “grandfather clause” included in the adjusted local-intake areas of Churchlands Senior High School, Mount Lawley Senior High School and Shenton College from 2020 is unknown.  The grandfather clause provides students currently residing in the adjusted local-intake areas with a choice to enrol at their current local-intake area school or their new local-intake area school from 2020.
