Ministerial Office
As of 1 January 2010 the Government Media Office ceased to operate in a move to streamline decision making and coordination across portfolios. As part of these changes responsibility for daily Media Monitoring Services for Ministers and some government agencies has been transferred to the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Department of Indigenous Affairs
(a) Media Monitors.
(b) The Department of Indigenous Affairs does not have a current contract.
(c) $57,316.56

Department of Health
(a) Media monitoring services are provided to the Department of Health by Media Monitors Australia Pty Ltd.
(b) A retainer and web hosting fee of $458.80 is charged per month (excludes GST). Additional costs are charged per item.
(c) Between 23 September 2008 and 31 April 2010, a total of $81,790 has been paid for media monitoring services (total includes the monthly retainer and web hosting fee).
(d - e) The initial contract commenced in July 2005 under the previous government. Under the terms and conditions of the contract, three extension options, each for a further 12 month period are available. The Department of Health exercised the final option to extend the contract on 17 July 2009.
The Department of Health advertised a request for tenders in January 2010. A new contract for media monitoring services has been finalised and will be operational as of 18 July 2010.
