FOOD ASSISTANCE — FAMILY CRISIS PROGRAM
I refer to the food for family assistance provided by the department’s family crisis service. (1) How many families received assistance in the months of — (a) June 2008; (b) June 2009; and (c) June 2010? (1) In relation to families receiving assistance — (a) In the month of June 2008, 551 individuals received food assistance on one or more occasions through the family crisis program. (b) In the month of June 2009, 528 individuals received food assistance on one or more occasions through the family crisis program. (c) The Department for Child Protection replaced its client information system in March 2010, and the data warehouse used for reporting is not yet operational, so the figures for June 2010 are not available. The last month for which there is a full month of data available is February 2010. In the month of February 2010, 603 individuals received food assistance on one or more occasions through the family crisis program. (2) In relation to district level data — (a) Forty-five individuals received food assistance on one or more occasions through the family crisis program in the Armadale district in June 2008, 26 individuals in June 2009, and 45 in February 2010. (b) Twelve individuals received food assistance on one or more occasions through the family crisis program in the Cannington district in June 2008, 23 individuals in June 2009, and 19 in February 2010.
