POLICE — RETURN-TO-PRISON WARRANTS
704. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the minister representing the
Minister for Corrective Services:
I
refer to answers provided to my questions this month and last month regarding
outstanding return-to-prison warrants.
(1) Is the minister aware that the Minister for Police
replied to part of my question without notice on 20 June 2023 saying ''please
refer to Department of Justice''?
(2) Is the
minister aware that the Attorney General replied to part of question on notice
1432 on 20 June 2023 saying, ''please refer to the Minister for
Corrective Services''?
(3) Is the
minister aware that the whereabouts of violent sex offender Kiernan Donnelly
has been unknown since at least 6 February 2023?
(4) Is the
minister aware that the whereabouts of a different offender being the subject
of warrant W22074861 has been unknown since October 2022?
(5) How many other return-to-prison
warrants is the department currently monitoring as at today's date?

Minister for Corrective Services.
(1) Yes, the minister is obviously
aware of the response that he provided.
(2) The minister has been made
aware of this response.
(3) The minister provided a response
on Kiernan Donnelly on 20 June 2023.
(4) The minister provided a response
on warrant W22074861 on 20 June 2023.
(5) As advised on
11 May 2023 in question without notice 485, the status of parolees whose parole
has been suspended and whereabouts are unknown is recorded in their individual
electronic records as free text. Providing this information would require a case-by-case
analysis.
