Withers has been included in the 'New Living' redevelopment strategy as a means to
dilute the Department of Housing's public housing presence in the area.
(2)
The City of Bunbury is preparing a precinct plan over Withers in consultation with key stakeholders, including the Department of Housing. It is anticipated that the Precinct Plan will be finalised in early 2015. The plan will inform the Department's redevelopment strategy, which will include a combination of sell downs, refurbishments and construction of new dwellings for sale over several years.
(3)
The South West Housing Needs Report was part of a joint study between the Department of Housing, South West Development Commission and LandCorp. The report was developed to guide and influence future plans and priorities for the three agencies. The Department, South West Development Commission and LandCorp are happy to offer a briefing with the Member on the report.
