LAVERTON HOSPITAL —
UPGRADE
154. Hon ROBIN SCOTT to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the federal government's
announcement in April last year that $16.4 million would be spent upgrading
Laverton Hospital if the coalition remained in government.
(1) Has the Western
Australian Minister for Health requested an update from his federal counterpart
on the progress of the Laverton Hospital upgrade?
(2) If no to (1),
why not?
(3) If yes to
(1), could the minister please provide details of his requests?
(4) What is the
state government doing to assist the upgrade of Laverton Hospital?

Department of Health is currently finalising negotiations with the commonwealth
Department of Health on the project agreement for the Western Australian
initiatives under the Community Health and Hospital Program, which includes the
upgrades to Laverton Hospital.
