LARGE FERAL HERBIVORES — CONTROL
867. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Minister for Agriculture and
Food:
I refer to the control of large
feral herbivores by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional
Development.
(1) Is it the state government's
intent to continue the use of category D firearms in the control of LFHs?
(2) If not, can
the minister explain what alternative control measures have been set in place
to manage LFHs?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
member for the question.
(1) Yes. The
Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development remains committed to
the control of large pest animal species, including large feral herbivores, and
understands that category D firearms remain an important tool to achieve this
control.
(2) Not applicable.
