(a) Regional populations include ‘at risk’ populations. At risk regional populations are defined to include those with a regional population health focus including environmental health, communicable disease control, health promotion, aboriginal health, child and community health, and cancer prevention and detection.
(b)2001-02 $111m incorporating regional costs in the Country, South West and Metropolitan areas. This does not include statewide population health amounts, which complement the regional programs. This data has been calculated from health service and department financial statements relating to the prevention and promotion output.
2002-03 This data is compiled from the Annual Reports of the Department and will not be available until after the end of 2002-03.
2003-04 The 2003-04 budgets are yet to be finalised
