Department of Housing and Works’ staff will only interact with an adult person. Where an adult person is not available, alternative appointments will be scheduled. (b) Not applicable. (3) Apart from existing Department of Housing and Works’ employees, all other appointees to the department are required to undergo Police criminal checks. In addition employees whose duties require them to visit schools, are required to undergo regular Police criminal checks, to satisfy Education Department requirements. (4) This is a risk management strategy to identify individuals with criminal convictions, that would otherwise be at conflict with their particular role in the department.
