In relation to overseas adoption, can the minister inform Parliament of the following - (1) How many expressions of interest were received by the Government from private, not-for-profit organisations in relation to dealing with intercountry adoptions? (2) When will the Government make a decision on the issue of private organisations handling intercountry adoptions? A decision was expected in January 2004. (3) If the decision has not been made, can an explanation of the situation be provided to Parliament? (4) Does Western Australia, through the Department for Community Development, place a quota on overseas adoptions; and, if so, what are the quotas for each country? Hon SUE ELLERY
