INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICE
646. Mr A. KRSTICEVIC to the Minister for Local Government:
I have a supplementary question. I am
not sure that answered the question. Will the minister confirm that the cuts to
the interlibrary loan service will put more financial pressure on local
governments to fund the purchase of top-up books, since councils, not the state
government, fund 88 per cent of WA public library costs?

I thank the member for the
supplementary question. I am very confident that local governments, as one of
the primary providers of library services throughout the state, will continue
to deliver quality services to their populations, which will include access to
the library resources that they seek, and that that will be done in an
efficient and economically viable manner.
The SPEAKER : That is the end
of question time.
