DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME — IMPLEMENTATION
1139. Hon WILSON TUCKER to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier:
I congratulate Hon Roger Cook on
his recent appointment as the Premier of Western Australia, and I note that on 1 October 2023 the clocks will move forward by one
hour for daylight saving in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia , New
South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.
Does the Premier support the
implementation of daylight saving time in Western Australia?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. On behalf of the Premier, I accept the member's
congratulations.
The WA government does not support the implementation of
daylight saving time in WA, given the countless benefits of Western Australia's
time zone, which aligns with a quarter of the world's population,
including WA's major trading partners.
