DR STEPHEN VAN DER MYE - EMPLOYMENT TERMINATION SETTLEMENT
I refer to the settlement between Verve Energy and Dr van der Mye. (1) Will the minister table a letter of termination issued to Dr van der Mye, or a similar instrument showing the date of the termination of his employment; and, if not, why not? (2) Will the minister table any document indicating that Dr van der Mye resigned from his position; and, if not, why not? (3) On what basis did Western Power or Verve Energy claim that Dr van der Mye resigned his position, in the absence of a letter of resignation from him? Hon KIM CHANCE

A letter from the acting chairman of Western Power, dated 20 February 2004, was sent to Dr van der Mye confirming Dr van der Mye’s resignation on 19 February 2004. My answer states “ see attached letter”, but that attachment has not been included. No doubt it will be provided.
