I refer to government advertising concerning Elizabeth Quay.
(1) What is
the total amount spent on advertising to date, and will the minister provide a
breakdown of that amount by type of advertising?
(2) What is
the total amount budgeted for advertising, and will the minister provide a
breakdown of that amount by type of advertising?
(3) Will
television advertisements be produced; and, if so, what is the expected cost of
producing and delivering those advertisements?

(1) The
total amount spent to date on advertising by the Metropolitan Redevelopment
Authority is $90 792 and includes press advertising expenditure of $61 740;
radio advertising expenditure of $19 616; outdoor advertising expenditure of $5
246; and media scheduling expenditure of $5 346. The advertising is regarding
works, disruptions and general awareness, and is in line with standard
government process for road closures and works updates.
(2) The
total amount budgeted for the current awareness campaign is $250 000 and is
included as part of the approved $440 million for the Elizabeth Quay project.
This includes a press advertising budget of $90 000; radio advertising of $48 000;
outdoor advertising of $48 000; and media scheduling, artwork, production,
installation and agency fees expenditure of $64 000. In addition to the above,
expenditure on advertising will be allocated at the commencement of each major
works phase of the project to inform the public of roadworks, disruptions and
alternative routes. An estimated budget of $57 000 has been allocated for each
phase, which includes press advertising expenditure of $17 000; radio
advertising expenditure of $30 000; and media scheduling, artwork, production,
installation and agency fees expenditure of $10 000. Further advertising will
be delivered as required and in accordance with government approvals throughout
the Elizabeth Quay project.

stage, television advertisements regarding Elizabeth Quay are not part of the
communications strategy.
