HOUSING — LANDSLIDE RISK — MIRA MAR
891. Mr P.J. RUNDLE to the Minister for Lands:
I
have a supplementary question. I want to confirm the detail that the question
was sent at 9.41 am to the minister's chief of staff this
morning. Further to that, is there any particular detail on the determination
of the houses that the minister wanted to voluntarily acquire, and is there any
right of appeal for someone —
The SPEAKER : That is the
question. It has to be a short, sharp question for a supplementary question,
not a commentary about when you did or did not send a question.

The homes that are affected are
already known on the public record. As I said, the Great Southern Development
Commission assisted to help to identify the landowners, and the Department of
Planning, Lands and Heritage has been undertaking those negotiations. Again, I will
say this: any fair and reasonable person would agree with my summary that the
government's approach has been very transparent and that for us to
offer people's own reports to be commissioned at our cost is a very
fair process.
