I refer to complaints received by the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office from people with disability regarding disability service providers, and I ask: (a) how many complaints were received by people with disability in: (i) 2014-2015; and (ii) 2015-2016 to date; (b) in 2014-15, what was the breakdown of complaints by both government and non-government service providers; and (c) in 2015-16 to date, what was the breakdown of complaints by both government and non-government service providers?

(a) (i) In the 2014-2015 financial year, 62 complaints were received by the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office (HaDSCO) regarding a disability service provider (20 complaints were made by a person with a disability and 42 complaints were made by a person acting on behalf of a person with a disability).
(ii) From 1 July 2015 – 10 June 2016 HaDSCO received 64 complaints regarding a disability service provider (15 complaints were made by a person with a disability and 49 complaints were made by a person acting on behalf of a person with a disability).
(b) For the 2014-2015 financial year, 12 complaints concerned government providers (6 complaints were made by a person with a disability and 6 complaints were made by a person acting on behalf of a person with a disability). In the same year, 41 complaints concerned non-government service providers (12 of these were made by a person with a disability and 29 were made by a person acting on behalf of a person with a disability). The service provider was not identified in the remaining 9 complaints.
(c) From 1 July 2015 – 10 June 2016, 22 complaints concerned government providers (7 of these were made by a person with a disability and 15 were made by a person acting on behalf of a person with a disability). A total of 37 complaints concerned non-government service providers (8 complaints were made by a person with a disability and 29 were made by a person acting on behalf of a person with a disability). The service provider was not identified in the remaining 5 complaints.
