AT-RISK PATIENT - TRANSFER
Further to the answer to question without notice 490 yesterday, with regard to the man who jumped from a taxi whilst being transferred from Swan District Hospital to Bentley Hospital - (1) Was the man being transferred from one hospital to another? (2) Was a voluntary mental health bed available at Swan District Hospital? (3) If yes, why is a voluntary mental health bed at Swan District Hospital clinically less appropriate than a voluntary mental health bed at Bentley Hospital? (4) Are the clinicians from the acute response team and the registrar who assessed the man employees of the Metropolitan Health Service? (5) Is the minister the board of the Metropolitan Health Service? (6) Is the minister the employer of the clinicians who assessed this man? (7) If the clinical assessments and the clinical judgments regarding this patient’s transfer turn out to be inappropriate, will the minister accept responsibility for the consequences of his employees’ actions?
