(2) The Bill repeals the existing Electoral Distribution Act. New electoral arrangements are proposed in the Electoral Amendment Bill 2001. These arrangements will include the fundamental principle of one vote one value. This basic principle has been part of the ALP policy for over 100 years. Therefore, the attitude of the regional commissions was not sought. (3) Not applicable
