WORKPLACE AGREEMENTS - RESOURCES SECTOR
Let Hansard record loud laughter. The Minister for Racing and Gaming does not even know how much she has committed to expend on a program. Hon Graham Giffard : Get on with your question, you clown! The PRESIDENT : Order! The Leader of the Opposition. Hon NORMAN MOORE : It sounds like the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union is back in town, does it not? Hon Ljiljanna Ravlich : We wouldn’t want to mislead the house, even accidentally. Hon NORMAN MOORE : I just find it extraordinary that the minister does not know how much she has committed to expend on a particular program. The PRESIDENT : Order! The Leader of the Opposition. Hon NORMAN MOORE : My question is to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Resources. (1) Does the minister agree that industrial harmony has contributed to the world-class productivity and competitiveness of our resources sector? (2) Is the minister concerned about adverse consequences for the resources sector if the option of workplace agreements is removed; and, if not, why not? (3) If the minister has some concerns, what action will he take to protect the interests of our state and its resources sector? Hon KIM CHANCE
