Data is provisional and subject to revision.
Figures are of 'Assault Offences' reported to or becoming known to police between 01 January 2018 and 17 October 2018, inclusive, that do not have an Offence Outcome Status Code of: 'No Criminal Offence', 'Offence Substituted', or 'False Report'. The number of Recorded Offences in the attached tables were not necessarily committed in the period indicated.
The offence type ‘Assault’ excludes duplicated and facilitation offences. These counting rules are based on Australian Bureau of Statistics recommendations and aim to align the WA Police Force with national standards as per the National Crime Recording Standard (2008).
‘Seniors’ have been defined as persons aged 66 years and over.
Figures may exclude offences recorded against Acts and/or Statutes that have only recently been made available for use in the Incident Management System, and are therefore pending incorporation in reporting processes. For example – where new or amended legislation has created an offence
