I refer to the article published in the West Australian entitled More than 38,000 firearms handed in as Government buyback wraps up and ask: (a) What was the date and time that the explosion took place; (b) What authorisation was required to carry out the destruction of the surrendered weapons, providing evidence of authorisations; (c) Was the Minister for Police consulted on the method of destruction: (i) If so, did the Minister for Police indicate a preference towards the techniques of destruction used; (d) Did the Minister for Police authorise the explosion of surrendered firearms; (e) Was the location of the destruction owned by the Crown: (i) If not, was there compensation provided to the owner of the land; and (ii) If so, how much was compensated; (f) Did correspondence occur between the Western Australia Police and the residents surrounding where the explosion took place: (i) If so, please provide the correspondence sent by WA Police; (g) Was the explosion video filmed by a member of the WA Police office: (i) If not, what department or organisation filmed the explosion; (h) Was the shredding video filmed by a staffer of the WA Police: (i) If not, who filmed the shredding; (i) Were emergency services present at the explosion: (i) If so, outline the services present and their individual costs; (j) Was security present at the exploding location; (k) What security protocols were in place for the transporting of the surrendered weapons to the location of the explosion; (l) What security protocols were in place for the transporting of the surrendered weapons to the location of the shredding; (m) Outline how the location was chosen for the explosion; (n) Provide the distance of the location site from Perth City; (o) Provide the distance between where the surrendered weapons were held and the explosion location; and (p) Provide the distance between where the surrendered weapons were held and the shredding location?
