(1) Is there any discernible statistical trend in hourly demands for emergency services in the tertiary hospitals; that is, Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital or Fremantle Hospital? (2) If so, what are the - (a) busiest; and (b) least busiest times each day of the week at each hospital? (3) Have any of the emergency departments in any of the hospitals experienced any shortages in basic equipment such as sphygmomanometers? (4) If so, which hospitals and what equipment? (2) (a) The most number of presentations occur at RPH, SCGH and Fremantle Hospital between 1100 hours to 1500 hours. (b) The least number of presentations occur at RPH and SCGH between 0400 hours and 0800 hours, and at Fremantle Hospital between 0200 hours and 0700 hours. (3) RPH and SCGH report that all emergency departments may experience shortages of trolleys and monitors during periods of extremely high demand. Fremantle Hospital reports no shortages. (4) RHP and SCGH have reported shortages of trolleys and monitors.
