The statement of a failing road safety strategy is in ignorance of the facts that in the year 2000 there were 212 deaths on WA roads and under the WA Road Safety Strategy, in spite of 250,000 extra vehicles on the road, the number of deaths has been reduced with an average 34 less deaths from 2001 to 2006 each year.
