STANDING COMMITTEE ON
PROCEDURE AND PRIVILEGES —FIFTY-FIFTH REPORT — DARREN FOSTER
622. Mr Z.R.F. KIRKUP to the Premier:
I
have a supplementary question. Given the damning findings of the Standing
Committee on Procedure and Privileges report tabled today in the
Legislative Council, will the Premier stand down the director general, Mr Darren
Foster, until the same committee completes a separate investigation into Mr Foster's
actions; and, if not, why not?

Absolutely not; absolutely not. The
tone of the member's question shows that he is defending corrupt
conduct that is being investigated by the CCC. That is what it shows. I think
the Liberal Party wants to be very, very careful about the approach it adopts
on this. I think that we should support inquiries into corruption, not attack
them. That is the message I am sending to the Legislative Council, and that is
the message I am sending to the Liberal Party.
