I am advised by the Minister for the Environment and Heritage as follows - (1) Yes, the Government's environment policy includes a commitment to introduce biodiversity conservation legislation. (2) It is difficult to determine a precise timetable as the Government is committed to a public consultation process in advance of the introduction of a Bill to the Parliament. (3) Not applicable.
