I refer to the report on consultants engaged by the Government for the six months ended 30 June 1999 and ask - (1) Was a report or any written documentation provided to the Government from the following consultancies - (i) Darcy Farrell and Associates, $42 338; (ii) Media Release Productions, $36 822; and (iii) Peter Rowe Consultants, $30 355? (2) If so, will the minister table the reports or any written documentation received? (3) If not, will the Premier explain on what the amount of over $100 000 was spent and how it can be justified? Media Release Productions was engaged by the Ministry of the Premier and Cabinet under a Department of Contract and Management Services panel contract to provide public relations services as necessary, including, although not limited to, shooting, editing and packaging broadcast quality video, compilation of a library of vision and obtaining vision from various sources for use by the Government. Peter Rowe was engaged by the Ministry of the Premier and Cabinet to provide strategic advice on major government initiatives on a range of matters as directed from time to time. During the period in question, the consultants provided a large volume of work product to the ministry and the Premier. It would be neither practical nor reasonable to table that work product.
