VERVE ENERGY — SOLVENCY
I gave notice of this two-part question on 10 April 2008. (1) Is Verve Energy insolvent? (2) If so, are the directors of Verve allowing the company to trade whilst insolvent? Hon KIM CHANCE

I thank Hon Simon O’Brien for providing advance notice of this question. (1) No. (2) The directors have been and are continuing to carry out their duties according to the Electricity Corporations Act 2005, including sections 61, 118 and 119.
