I thank Hon Murray Criddle for the question. (1)-(3) Yes, there was a meeting this morning with regard to recreational fishing. There are actually three meetings at the moment: one in Geraldton, one that is part of the tour for the Rock Lobster Industry Advisory Committee, and one that is specifically designed for commercial fishermen to discuss anything they want. There is also a meeting this afternoon to discuss new fishing rules for the west coast zone. That meeting will be open to everybody. There will be a presentation about fishing sites which will provide reasons for the government’s requirement for a 50 per cent reduction. We seek general and specific views about what new management plans people think might be effective with regard to recreational fishing, in order to achieve sustainable fishing. Although the meeting will target the west coast zone, we will receive input at that meeting, and at other meetings to be announced over the next fortnight, about the overall recreational fishing rules for the whole of Western Australia. The focus is on the west coast zones, but we also take a broader view with regard to the recreational sector.
