SCADDAN PRIMARY SCHOOL — SANDPIT SHADE
COVER
1207. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for
Education:
I refer to Scaddan Primary School,
which, although it escaped most of the force of the fires in November 2015,
lost the shade cover of the sandpit.
(1) Is the
minister aware that the community has been advised that as the cover was not
fixed, but rather a shade cloth, it cannot be replaced with a new shade cloth,
as the policy requires a fixed shade cover and that, further, the school cannot
afford the price of a fixed shade?
(2) Can the
minister provide any alternative advice to the Scaddan community on how it can
ensure that there is cover over the sandpit before summer?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) I
am not aware of the advice provided to the community and neither is the
Department of Education. The Department of Education will liaise with the
school regarding possible funding assistance for the provision of shade at the
school.
