The minister’s predecessor, Hon Tom Stephens, assured this House that the Gallop Labor Government had no designs on Fremantle cemetery land for use in roadworks. Given that planning control area No 80 has now been placed over Fremantle cemetery lot 4009, was the Minister for Local Government and Regional Development, as the responsible minister, consulted by the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure before action was taken, or has she been consulted since; and, if not, what action does the minister intend to take? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

That is very interesting. I thank the honourable member for the question. I was unaware of the assurances that my predecessor had given to the House on that matter. This is the first time that this matter has been brought to my attention. I will make it my business to find out the status of this issue.
